Ashley and Tucker’s Clash Leaves Them Both in Tears — and Nate Suggests Victor Take a Radical Step

Sally comes down the stairs at the Club and calls out to Nick. They awkwardly ask how each other is doing and make small talk about her new business. He loves to hear she has her first assignment coming up. She couldn’t have done it without him. Sally asks about Victor — Adam mentioned that something’s been off with him. Nick frowns, “So, you and Adam were talking about my father’s condition?”

Adam walks into Victor’s office and asks him to have a drink after work. Victor agrees and says he’s looking forward to it. He then tells Adam they need to figure out how to streamline Kirsten Incorporated so it can be useful to Newman Media. Nate appears as Victor says this and Adam starts to remind his father that Sharon took it, but he decides not to. “We can touch on that,” he assures. As Adam walks out, Nate asks, “Everything OK here?”

Nate and Adam step out to whisper about Victor’s latest memory loss. Adam updates him that he has been in touch with a doctor. Victoria and Nick dismissed him, but he’s used to that. He has to focus on his father. Nate offers to talk to Victoria. Adam’s sure there’s nothing he could say to her that would change her mind about him. He’ll move forward on his own. Adam boards the elevator and Nate turns to see Victor in the office doorway.

In Victor’s office, he asks Nate if that was Adam or Nicholas. Nate says it was Adam. He clears up the confusion about Sharon’s company and Victor asks, “What’s happening to me?”

At the Abbott house, Kyle asks Billy if there’s an issue he doesn’t know about. Billy wants to speak directly and accuses him of coming after his job. Kyle admits he told Jack he won’t come back unless he’s in the position. He guesses Billy doesn’t think he deserves it. Billy reminds him it’s not possible because it’s his job in the company his father founded. “I’m doing a good job and I’m not going anywhere.” Kyle smirks, “How long will that last? You always implode.”

They bicker about why Kyle walked away. He says he was forced out. Billy points out that Jack offered him the COO job. Kyle deserves something better. Billy asks if he’s always been this entitled. Billy tells him he’s acting like a spoiled brat. Kyle smirks that his opinion doesn’t mean much to him. He gripes about Jack choosing Summer over him at Marchetti. Billy reminds him it’s her company. “You’re spoiled, alright?” As long as he’s happy he doesn’t care who he hurts, “Does that sound about right?” Kyle shrugs that he’s right. He has been acting selfish and spoiled and has been acting entitled to a job he hasn’t earned. Kyle doesn’t want to break his father’s heart. Billy muses, “And you figured all of that out just now?” Kyle nods, “You win.” Billy can’t understand the about-face. Kyle says he’s embarrassed about what he’s put his dad through. He will no longer be a spoiled brat and will accept the situation for what it is. Billy says he earned his position and he’s doing a great job. Kyle will no longer force the issue or return to Jabot. Jack walks in and asks, “What is this? What’s going on?”

Ashley approaches Tucker at Society and he tells her he’s started annulment proceedings. She supposes she should thank him for taking care of it. Tucker figured it was the best approach considering they were married all of five minutes. Ash muses that they had fun in those five minutes. She wonders if they can be in the same room without causing each other pain moving forward. Tucker doesn’t trust her anymore, “I don’t trust your motives anymore.” She asks what she could do to change that. Tucker chuckles that it’s ironic… now the shoe’s on the other foot and she has to convince him that they have any kind of future.

Ashley tells Tucker that despite his atrocious behavior in Paris, she believes they can be civil and even friends down the line. Tucker doesn’t trust her motives. “What you really want to know is what, if anything, I have planned against you and your family.” Ashley has a bad feeling he’s out for vengeance. Tucker muses, “Maybe. Or maybe I just like watching you squirm.” Ashley snarks about his becoming a better man. Tucker left him in a hotel room in Paris. Ashley fumes that he was a monster who terrified her because he didn’t get what he wanted. She questions if he ever really loved her. Tucker snaps that she wrecked it. Ashley fumes, “You just want payback.” Tucker teases, “Maybe I’ve let the whole thing go.” He won’t let her know for sure.

Ashley complains that he’s still angry even though she’s apologized repeatedly. Tucker asks, “Did you ever really love me? Seriously?” Was it revenge for what he did to her all those years ago? Ash insists she loved him with her entire heart. He calls her cold and cruel and doesn’t believe it. He wanted to be as important to her as she was to him. Ashley snipes that he wanted her to give up anything. She would never force him to choose between her and his family, but that’s what he expected her to do. If he would acknowledge how he treated her in Paris, maybe they could find some way back. Tucker states, “There is no way back.” Ashley asks, “So… did you ever really love me?”

Tucker snarks, “Brava.” He’ll never be anything but suspicious of Ashley from here on out. He plunks down some cash on the bar and congratulates her — she’s managed to push him away completely. She says he never answered her question about loving her, “I guess that’s my answer.” Ashley tears up as he walks out. Outside, Tucker cries against the wall before composing himself and walking off.

In Sally’s suite, Nick thanks her for letting him come up there. Talking about his dad in a public place can be awkward. “How much did Adam tell you?” Sally says he just mentioned Victor’s been having memory issues and getting confused. Nick was hoping Adam would be more discreet. Sally points out he just told her about it himself. Sally promises not to say anything to anyone. Nick apologizes; he’s just upset with Adam. He’s worried that he’ll see this as an opportunity. Sally doesn’t believe that’s true and doesn’t want to talk about him. Nick admits, “I’m scared as hell about my dad.”

At the Abbott house, Kyle tells Jack that he and Billy just had a candid discussion about his pursuit of the co-CEO position at Jabot. He realizes he’s been unfair to them both and will pursue other options. Kyle knows he’s been selfish and entitled. Jack wishes he’d reconsider the position of COO. Kyle doesn’t want a position like that, so it’s time for him to move on. Jack wishes he could find himself within Jabot.

In Victor’s office, Nate tells his boss that Adam has been speaking to a specialist. Victor says he’s building a case against him to remove him as CEO. Nate’s not sure that’s true, but Victor’s convinced his children are power grabbers. Nate thinks maybe Victor needs some distance from all of this and suggests he consider a leave of absence. Victor’s eyes widen, “What?!” He can’t leave or it will look like weakness. Nate says they could cover and make up an excuse. His health is being compromised by being there. Victor won’t let Adam or Victoria take his company. Victor wants to know what he has to do to beat this.

In Sally’s suite, she tells Nick that he, Victoria, and Adam should work together to help their father. “A family crisis can sometimes bring people together.” Nick’s skeptical but assures her that whatever happens, his dad will get the help he needs. He’s surprised Adam brought this up to her. “Either he’s working you…” Sally interrupts that Adam’s sincere. Nick guesses they are back on closer terms then. Sally remains silent. Nick will take that as a “yes”. He supposes she took his advice and is trying to figure out what her relationship to Adam really means.

At the Abbott house, Kyle insists he’ll pay his dues and maybe someday he’ll end up back at Jabot. Jack asks what changed his mind about going after Billy’s job. Kyle says his uncle gave him a wake-up call. Jack wants to know what his new possibilities involve, but Kyle’s not prepared to divulge that yet. He thanks Billy for helping him see things so clearly, and leaves. Jack supposes he should be relived. Billy doesn’t like to say this, but he doesn’t think Kyle is being sincere.

Billy recaps his conversation with Kyle to Jack, who wonders why he thinks his son is lying. Billy notes the about-face was too sudden. Ashley comes in as Billy says it feels like Kyle is trying to throw them off. She asks if they heard from Tucker. Billy and Jack wonder why she’s asking, “What’s he done now?” Ashley just came from seeing him and thought he might have reached out to them. Billy updates her on his conversation with Kyle, “His turnabout seems a little abrupt to me.” They ask about Tucker. Ashley says he doesn’t trust her. Billy and Jack are sure he has a scheme in mind. Billy notes that, ironically, the closest person to Tucker right now is Kyle, thanks to his relationship with Audra. He’s sure Jack’s son is looking out for himself. “Maybe there’s a connection here that we’re missing.” Billy muses that Tucker needs someone on the inside, “I think Tucker may have got his claws into Kyle and is turning your son against us.”

Sally walks Nick downstairs and he thanks her for her discretion. Adam walks in and greets them. He wants to speak with his brother, so Sally leaves for her meeting. Adam tells Nick that Victor was just talking about merging Kirsten with Newman Media. They need to take some action and do what they can to figure out what’s going on with him. Nick can’t trust that he has their father’s best interests at heart. Adam asks if he really believes he doesn’t care about their father’s health. Nick reminds him he messed with Victor’s medication. Adam says that was a dark moment. He wants to help their father. He asked him for drinks and the specialist is going to stop by. Nick questions him ambushing Victor. Adam hopes he picks up on it, that means he’s still Victor Newman. Nick doesn’t like it. Adam pleads with him to give this a shot and sit down with them. Nick relents, “OK, sure. I’m in.”

In Victor’s office, Nate tells his boss that the sooner he gets medical attention the sooner they’ll know if they can stop this before it gets worse. Victor asks, “You can make this happen?” Nate nods that arrangements can be made. Victor grunts, “To put me away.” Nate insists it would just be an assessment. They can cover by saying he’s on a business trip.

In his suite, Tucker downs a drink and Kyle arrives. He got his text. Tucker’s ready to take the next step. Kyle says he’s ready and won’t let him down.
