Horrifying footage has emerged of what officials in Kyiv suspect were warheads from a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) or advanced rocket raining down over Ukraine this morning. Security cameras caught the moment several projectiles streaked through the night sky and triggered a series of explosions in the city of Dnipro where the plants of state-owned aerospace and defence manufacturer Yuzmash are located. The ferocity, speed and coordinated nature of the salvos suggested the explosions were caused by MIRVs (multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles).

Russia’s ambassador to the UK has declared that Ukraine’s use of Storm Shadow missiles on Russian territory means Britain ‘is now directly involved in this war’. ‘This firing cannot happen without NATO staff, British staff as well,’ Andrei Kelin told Sky News this afternoon – a day after British-made rockets battered a military base in Russia’s Kursk region. His comments came as British and European leaders decried a ‘clear and deeply concerning escalation’ in the Ukraine conflict by Vladimir Putin after Russia’s forces appeared to strike the city of Dnipro with a suspected intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) this morning.

A machete attacker has been filmed raining down knife blows on a victim at a London underground station. Edgware Road tube station in Westminster was closed after police and London Ambulance Service were called to reports of a serious assault just before 5pm on November 19. Ambulance crews and an incident response officer attended the scene to find a man had been stabbed.

Ford is planning to cut roughly 800 jobs across the UK over the next three years as part of a wider European jobs cull. The car manufacturer said the UK job cuts come as part of plans to axe 4,000 roles overall across Europe by the end of 2027 to slash costs. It said the cull will primarily affect Germany, where 2,900 roles are under threat, with ‘minimal reductions’ in other European markets.

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has arrived at his funeral today – with Harry Styles leading his One Direction bandmates as they rally around Cheryl. Payne died aged 31 on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires. Nicola Robert’s, a member of Girl’s Aloud pop group, was among the first mourners to arrive.
