From people who see heaven after being declared clinically dead, to those who believe they’ve been reincarnated, there are plenty who are certain that life goes on after death.

Now, others are claiming to have had ‘pre-birth experiences’ – and insist they experienced consciousness before they were even born while their soul was already alive and getting ready to enter a human body.

Also known as a ‘pre-mortal’ or ‘near-birth’ experiences, self-proclaimed ‘psychics’ on social media claim they remember their soul travelling down a ‘pre-birth tunnel’ and into their human bodies.

Those who’ve had ‘pre-birth’ experiences believe that humans first exist as spiritual souls before being sent to Earth to fulfil a mortal ‘contract’.

While people claiming to be able to speak to the dead is hardly a new phenomenon, those who believe in pre-birth consciousness claim it has allowed them to connect with those who haven’t even been born yet.

They don’t necessarily have memories of themselves pre-birth, but believe that their future children communicated with them in dreams before they even knew they were pregnant, while some say they’ve vividly seen their future grandchildren.

Others have even gone as far as to claim that we ‘choose’ our own life in our pre-earthly state, and that everything in life – from our parents, to our culture and our gender – is something we have chosen during this time.

Hailing from across the world, these ‘pre-birth truthers’ have taken to social media to share their testimonies, saying they’ve bravely ‘come out’ in the face of skepticism from friends and family.

One of these is Dr Christine Dolahan from New Jersey, who claims coming to terms with her pre-birth experience cured her depression and allows her to live a ‘very full and happy’ life.

The mother-of-two describes herself as an ‘energy psychology practitioner’ and ‘life purpose coach’ – and says she remembers being a spirit before her human life began.

Describing her experience on the Life After Life NDE YouTube Channel, she recalled: ‘I had a pre-birth experience. The earliest memory I have is walking through this spiritual dimension. I can’t explain it in any other way.

‘It was sort of concrete, but it wasn’t.’

She continued: ‘The colour was bright like pink, very warm colours, and it was very beautiful there. It was so beautiful, I had not a care in the world. I was very at ease.

‘I remember seeing buildings, which is what I could describe them in human terms.’

Dr Christine, 37, said that she – along with everyone else on planet Earth – has attended a spiritual bootcamp prior to being born.

During her training, she met with her ‘spiritual mentor’ and telepathically communicated with him to get ‘spiritual truths’ about the meaning of life.

Dr Christine actually claims to have had multiple existences before her current life in New Jersey, saying she remembers dying as a young girl in a previous life, and being a ‘mentally disabled’ child in one before that.

Like many others who remember their pre-human lives, Dr Christine says she fell down a vortex, like the pre-birth tunnel, before her birth in Switzerland in 1987.

She recalled: ‘I slammed into my body. I remember literally slamming into my body and taking a breath and then just thinking “ugh, here we go again” and being completely exhausted.

‘Landing in my body was awful. It was a really, harsh experience like I was being slammed into a wall. There was pain, it was cold.’

As a baby, she remembers being coo-ed over and being confused because she was already of a ‘sound’ adult mind.

Though her family are ‘very against’ her beliefs, Dr Christine claims her memories have cured her depression.

She added: ‘Ever since I’ve accepted this experience as completely true and real, I don’t experience depression anymore. I live a very fulfilled and very joyful and very happy life.

‘Don’t get me wrong, my father passed away and I still grieve. Life is still going on but the darkness I was in has passed.

‘I’m just walking my path and doing what I need to do.’

Dr Christine even claims to know when she will die, because it’s when her ‘Earthly contract’ will come to an end and she’s set to return to the spiritual realm.

She also says that any diseases in the world are either ‘planned’ or a ‘choice’ because they offer people the chance to enter a new spiritual realm.

She isn’t alone in believing that our spiritual selves plan our early existence.

Beth Parker, a psychic who claims she was a French teacher in a past life, says that everything that happens in life is based on decisions we make before being born, including our gender, our culture – and even choosing our parents.

She said on her TikTok account: ‘We cannot be born in the wrong place or culture, because we choose all these things before we are born. When we say we, I don’t mean our human selves, I mean our soul.

‘Before we are born, our soul gets together with a little planning committee and chooses our experiences.

‘It chooses our location, our gender, our cultural identity, our parents, even our names. All of these things that make our experience on Earth unique, we choose ahead of time.

‘If you have parents you think you as a human would not choose, it’s probably because you’re a super brave soul, who looked down and said: “I’ve got some fixing to do down there.”‘

‘If a person is born in America but is very pulled towards Vietnam and the Vietnamese culture, it may be that they experienced past lives, especially recent past lives, in that culture’.

Beth herself feels drawn to European cultures and says she was a former French teacher in a past life.

In this life however, her soul chose to be American, and she lives in Maryland with her husband, her parents and their resident ghost.

She said: ‘Sometimes we experience bad things because we’ve volunteered to help others in this incarnation. Sometimes it’s because we’ve brought some karma with us from a past life.’

Though it’s only recently taken TikTok by storm, pre-birth experiences are far from a new concept.

In the 1960s psychiatrist Stanislav Graf concluded that some near-death experiences were recollections of memories before being born, with these including travelling through the ‘birth tunnel’.

In the late 1970s, this was also supported by science writer Carl Sagan and parapsychologist Barbara Honegger.

In 2002, Elisabeth Hallett published Stories Of The Unborn Soul: The Mystery And Delight Of Pre-Birth Communication – a further insight into the pre-birth experience filled with real-life testimonies from mothers who ‘connected’ with their children before they were born.

The book claims children reach out to their future parents and guide them through the journey leading up to their birth.

The testimonies, which are mainly kept anonymous, sees one woman, known as Kara say she ‘came out of the closet’ by speaking up about her experience.

Another admitted: ‘I have been reluctant to share these experiences, mostly out of fear that people would think I was completely nuts.’

‘Jill’ said she and her husband ‘Rob’ were about to sleep together when she felt the presence of her future child in the room.

‘All of a sudden, I had the most beautiful, warm, and tingly feeling. I knew that I had felt a child, our child, in the room with us,’ she said.

‘I immediately stopped Rob and said, “if we make love right now, we are going to have a baby. I was surprised when he replied, “I know”. It was like a wash of a loving, powerful and familiar presence over us.’

And ‘Linda’, a British woman sharing her story said she had a glimpse of her future daughter when she was only 18 years old.

In a dream, a young girl told her: ‘You’re my momma!’, leading her to wonder why she wasn’t called ‘mummy’ instead.

Later on her daughter Leah was born, with Linda’s American husband.

On TikTok, Cindylou from Southern California said she met her children and grandchildren before they were actually born.

She said: ‘I had made up my mind that I didn’t want kids. Then on this random day I dreamed of this beautiful little boy, he was absolutely perfect.

‘I was so in love with him in this dream. I knew he was mine. I was instantly changed about how I felt about having children.’

Two months later, she found out she was four months pregnant, and ‘realised’ she’d been communicating with her future child.

Cindy had a similar experience when her son was expecting his first child many years later.

She said: ”He looked like a cross between my son and her. I had a deep connection with this kid. Like, I knew he was my grandson.’

When her grandson was born, Cindy recognised his curly black hair from her visions, and realised they’d met before.

Dr Christine, who has two children, also said she’d first connected with her children as ‘spirit babies’ before they were born.

She visited a ‘spirit baby reader’, who felt she could have two or three children, and even shared what she believed the gender would be.

Dr Christine, despite having a PhD to prove the ‘evidence and data’ in pre-birth experiences, was skeptical.

However, in January 2020, she saw an angel while meditating and felt a spiritual ball merge with her womb, meaning she could communicate with her future daughter.

The reddit thread r/pastlives has become a forum inviting people to share their ‘pre-birth memories’, with many flocking to the comments, thrilled to find others to relate to their experiences.

One wrote: ‘I do have memories in the realm that I can currently recall. I guarded a gate where souls come and go. In my past time I spend in a forest area. I can only access it as it is my only private forest area.

‘Sometimes I guide souls to specific locations, to calm them or to be a guide. Rarely souls will try to out trick me and they always fail easily.

There is more that I can recall, did have a relationship with someone. Strong lady she was. She is a elf. I hope I do get to meet her hopefully in this lifetime.’

Another said: ‘In my memory, I also existed as a point of concentrated consciousness and saw my parents. They were sitting at the table in the house we were going to live in.

‘The moment I realized they were going to be my parents, I was overwhelmed with a so intense kind of love and excitement that I don’t think I’ve felt for a lot of times in this life.’

One more added: ‘Last i remember is being in my previous life, i remember a cold winter in the Early 1940s in New York, i was really tired this day and i was having really bad chest pains and i laid down like i did many nights before and went to sleep and then i remember the darkness for a little bit and then i remember seeing the faces of people i was going to meet and who would be important to me in this life on what looked like the surface of water, and the water was colorful and there were ripples around the images of these people. I have this dream every so often in this life.’

Others added: ‘When I was around 28, I just “saw” a past life, I wasn’t even dreaming, it came back like a memory, like a vivid movie playing itself and in there we were again mother and daughter and lived in a big house similar like the one of “Gone With The Wind” and I was really sick. I was also young and strong but suddenly got really ill of something rather stupid and… just died in her arms. I was around 16 years old then, in that life’;

‘Whenever I get a certain dosage of marijuana gummies, I feel as if I float off to the prebirth life. I did this a few days ago and I saw a field of “windows” that were portals to remembering past lives’;

‘I remember my soul being born out of darkness and suddenly just existing. I’ve been on earth many times since the creation of it. I also recall being attached to the womb of a woman floating and protecting her on the outside. I could feel everything she felt too. I was not too developed, probably less than 3 months developed’;

‘I am not sure if this counts, but I do remember…being in the womb? I remember it being liquidity, red, and dark but still some fleshy toned light peaking through.’

Many pre-birth experiencers say they remember ‘looking down at the earth from space’ before being born.

Christian Sundberg, who has racked up more than one million views on YouTube for sharing his pre-birth memories on the Next Level Soul Podcast with Alex Ferrari, said he remembered being in a space resembling a mechanic’s shop, floating above planet Earth.

He said: ‘My body is 42 years old. I remember choosing this life and coming to Earth.

‘It seemed very natural and normal even though no one else talked about it. We’re not really from here.’

Christian, and the others, believe that the rest of us are experiencing amnesia of our past lives, and pre-birth experience.

Their aim is to share it, to help everyone complete their Earthly purpose before returning to the spiritual realm.

And though they have critics aplenty, the millions of views they’re attracting proves the topic has, at the very least, got people talking.
