Conor McGregor expresses his ‘immense pride’ as he constructs eight new homes to provide housing for underprivileged Irish families in Dublin.

Champion MMA fighter Conor McGregor has revealed his ‘great pride’ in building eight homes for homeless Irish families in Dublin.

The featherweight brawler was out on the building site to inspect his first property development and greeted some of the local neighbours.

McGregor spoke with construction workers who are building the three bedroom houses which will go to homeless people currently living in hotels around the Irish capital.

The 30-year-old athlete, whose estimated worth is some £75 million, often uses social media to show off his glamorous lifestyle, rather than a mucky building site.

McGregor wrote: ‘Back on the site today, it has been a while. This is my first property development.

‘We have eight homes here closing in on finish. Three bedroom houses, designated for families that currently reside in hotels around the capital, without a home to call their own. But not for long. Through the storm comes the sun!

‘Walking around this land and these homes today, meeting all the neighbors, knowing that soon there will be families living here, creating their own memories, and building back their lives, gives me great pride!

‘Ireland forever! Ireland first! Ireland always!’

His usual social media posts gain reaction for their pictures of sports cars, lavish villas and private jets – but his latest pictures warmed his fans.

Shayna Donoghue wrote: ‘That’s amazing! What a great way to give back.’

Many of the locals went out to meet McGregor and take selfies with one of the world’s most famous sports stars

While Allan Gibson said ‘It’s nice to see a sportsman with a new found wealth remembering where he came from and doing good for others. Nice.’

A former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, McGregor has become one of the sport’s biggest stars and a global celebrity.
