PSG willing to hijack ‘untouchable’ Real Madrid defender as revenge for Mbappe transfer

According to a report from Defensa Central, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi is seeking to retaliate against Real Madrid for losing Kylian Mbappe by targeting their player, Ferland Mendy.

Mendy, who has had an impressive season, has caught the attention of PSG. His contract with Real Madrid runs until 2025, but there is uncertainty about his future with the club.

This comes at a time when Real Madrid’s negotiations with Alphonso Davies have taken an unexpected turn.

Real Madrid are currently focused on finishing their season on a high note, with just three games remaining, two in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League final.

They have already secured the league title two weeks ago and are now preparing for the European final against Borussia Dortmund on June 1. If they win, it will be their sixth UCL title in the last ten years under the management of Carlo Ancelotti.

Despite the on-field success, the Real Madrid management is also busy off the field. They are considering securing Mendy for the long term after his stellar performances this season.

It is to be noted that Mendy has been a key player, starting 29 of 33 games, and has become crucial for both Ancelotti and the club’s board. This has led to a halt in their pursuit of Alphonso Davies after months of negotiations.

However, Mendy’s representatives are uncertain about his future at Real Madrid. With his inclusion in Didier Deschamps’ squad for the upcoming Euro Cup, Real Madrid anticipate that his value might increase, especially considering he is now 29 years old.

As for PSG, they seem poised to take advantage of this situation. They are looking to lure Mendy to their team, much like they did with former Real Madrid players Sergio Ramos and Marco Asensio.

Al-Khelaifi’s interest in Mendy is seen as a form of revenge for Real Madrid’s successful acquisition of Mbappe, but it is unlikely that Madrid will sanction the sale.
