Henry Cavill’s The Witcher Look Transforms Him into the Perfect X-Men ’97 Villain in Marvel Art

When Henry Cavill’s look in The Witcher inspired an artist to reimagine him as an iconic X-Men villain.

Henry Cavill has played a number of popular characters throughout his career. With each role, the British actor proved that, when it comes to the action genre, he is hands-down one of the top choices.

From playing the caped Kryptonian in the DCEU to Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, Cavill has been the face of some of the biggest franchises on screen. The monster-slaying Witcher was one of his more prominent roles, and the show quickly became a huge success with the fans.

The actor’s look for the show has been talked about extensively. It is not surprising, then, that it inspired a fanart of a legendary Marvel villain.

X-Men ’97 is the new animated show from Marvel. So far, the show has received rave reviews from critics and fans alike. With a new episode coming out every week, there is much to look forward to.

The plot picks up immediately after the events of X-Men: The Animated Series, which ended in 1997. It chronicles the team of mutants as they come to terms with the loss of Professor Charles Xavier, their leader.

Almost three decades later, the animated series will see the return of their nemesis, Magneto. The villain’s new look has become a talking point, sporting flowing white hair. His costume also bears a large M on the front.

Magneto’s new look is reminiscent of Geralt of Rivia, which Henry Cavill played in The Witcher. Unsurprisingly, it has also inspired a number of fan art pieces.

Cavill is not new to playing famous roles such as Superman and Sherlock Holmes. As of now, he is not part of the MCU, but there are rumors. Given his popularity and penchant for such roles, it is not out of the equation.

With Charles Xavier out of the picture, the mutants are left without a leader. The Professor’s nemesis fills in the role effortlessly, as he inherits Xavier’s assets.

Since Erik Lehnsherr, also known as Magneto, was introduced in the comics, he has come to be loved by the masses. He has a troubled past, being a survivor of the Holocaust, and has been shaped by his experiences. However, his relationship with Xavier has always stood out.

Lehnsherr’s past comes back to haunt him in the new animated series. Only this time, he is on a path of redemption, even though his real test would be to not stray from this path.

Created by Beau DeMayo, the first episode of the show premiered on March 20th. A live-action version of the series might not be on the cards at present, but Cavill would be a popular choice to play the character, as seen from the art.
