Travis Kelce: Kansas City Chiefs’ Star Travis Kelce To Host ‘Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?’ On Amazon Prime

The Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, is known for his infectious energy on the field. But there’s a chance we might soon see him in a whole new arena as a game show host. Kelce is currently in talks with Amazon Prime Video to take the helm of a reboot of the popular trivia show, “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?

“The original show, which ran from 2007 to 2011 with comedian Jeff Foxworthy at the helm, challenged adults to answer elementary school-level questions. A 2019 revival on Nickelodeon featured John Cena as host and a focus on child contestants, but it only lasted one season.

This new iteration with Kelce would reportedly feature celebrity contestants. While the core concept of testing adult knowledge of elementary school curriculum remains, the show would tap into the star power of Hollywood and the sports world.

The casting of Kelce is an interesting choice. The tight end is known for his charisma and outgoing personality, which could translate well to the fast-paced environment of a game show. This is just one of a string of new ventures started by Kelce who has spent a good part of the last year building a solid persona off the field, having hosted his own podcast, “New Heights,” with his brother Jason, and even appearing on “Saturday Night Live” in 2023.

Ultimately, the success of a Kelce-hosted “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” will depend on execution. Striking the right balance between humor, nostalgia, and genuine challenge will be crucial. But with Kelce’s charisma and the show’s proven track record, there’s a chance this reboot could be a touchdown for both the tight end and Prime Video.
