The Hands To Myself songstress also made it clear she has no time for self-pity either.

Selena told GQ: ‘I didn’t have an opportunity to figure out my life without people having an opinion every step of the way.’

No doubt this has included her much discussed on and off again relationship with pop’s bad boy Justin Bieber.

Many have also criticized the 23-year-old as she went from the cherub-faced star of Wizards Of Waverly Place and to one who sings talk about 𝑠e𝑥, partying and generally not PG activities.

Mistakes, she’s made a few: The star – who became a household name on Wizards Of Waverly Place – said , ‘I didn’t have an opportunity to figure out my life without people having an opinion every step of the way’

While that is tough, Selena does not want your pity nor her own: ‘I chose this.

‘So I’m not gonna sit here and say, ”Oh, my God, poor me, I didn’t have a normal childhood.”

‘I don’t give a f**k about that.’

Addressing her stint in rehab in January 2014, Selena explained to the magazine: ‘No, no, no, no, no. First off, this is something that everyone always wants to fixate on. I got diagnosed with lupus. My mom had a very public miscarriage. So I had to cancel my tour.’

‘I needed time to just be okay. And I was going through leukemia’ – GQ noted that Selena likely meant to say chemotherapy.

‘and I went to two different locations for those treatments. It’s really frustrating, because I’m 100 percent allowed to have that, but I think people just want to have some sort of–– I understand what you’re asking but I’m just saying, I don’t think it really matters.

‘My past seems to be way more fascinating for people than my future, which bums me out… I don’t ever really like to sit and dwell on what that experience was. Was it fun? No. Is it fun to have it? No.’

New role: Selena certainly seems to have developed a taste for swear words, which may have been bolstered thanks to her part in movie Neighbors 2 (she is pictured on set)
