Kylian Mbappe’s long-running transfer saga appears to be finally coming to a close, with PSG manager Luis Enrique confirming that the player will be leaving PSG at the end of the season.

In a recent interaction with Prime Video, Enrique has wished Mbappe for his future endeavours, in what is likely to be the first of many confirmations regarding Mbappe’s future in the coming days.

Luis Enrique’s message to Mbappe

Luis Enrique was destined to be the first person to convey the message of Mbappe’s exit from PSG, as he was one who hinted at the same by making some changes to the starting eleven in recent weeks.

The Spaniard notably omitted Mbappe from the starting eleven in a few matches, though it was reported that his team changes are not necessarily linked with Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Now, Enrique has wished Mbappe the best for his future, stating (h/t Fabrizio Romano), “I wish all the best to Kylian Mbappé for his future. He’s a fantastic player and even more as a person. I really wish him all the best.”

Enrique had only joined PSG as a manager last summer. He was asked to lead the flagship project following years of inconsistency and failure. Unfortunately, though, the Spaniard joined at a time when PSG had to let go of several star players, including Neymar.

Mbappe is now set to become the latest superstar to leave Parc des Princes. Everything suggests he will be joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.

PSG to issue confirmation soon?

Following Luis Enrique’s comments on Mbappe’s future, it won’t be very long before PSG themselves issue an official statement regarding the Frenchman’s exit.

PSG are perhaps waiting for Real Madrid and Mbappe to finalise the negotiations, which have entered the final stages.

Mbappe will soon officially inform PSG he will be leaving at the end of the season, after which the club will issue an official statement.
