Real Madrid close in on the capture of Bayern Munich speedster in €50 million deal

With the Kylian Mbappe operation all but wrapped up, Real Madrid have turned their focus on signing another of their top targets for the summer – Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies.

The 23-year-old Canadian international has been identified as a key target to upgrade the team’s options in the left-back position.

Only a few days ago, reports emerged claiming that Davies had already reached a verbal agreement to join Real Madrid, with the player’s heart set on a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The only thing left would be to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich over a fee. After all, with Davies’ contract expiring in 2025, the Bavarians would sell him this summer rather than lose him for free next year.

Deal close to completion

Now, Cadena SER has come up with a major update on the situation of Davies, claiming that Real Madrid are closing in on the capture of the Bayern Munich speedster.

As per the report, the deal is in the ‘final stretch’ with Los Blancos now inching closer to landing another of their top targets for the summer.

Bayern Munich value Davies at €50 million and even though Real Madrid were initially planning to pay only €35 million (fixed fee), the Spanish capital club are now willing to increase their offer and add in some variables to match the Bavarians’ demands.

As was reported previously, money was never an issue for Real Madrid when it came to the Davies deal and they would not mind paying €50 million for him.

As such, it is claimed that Los Blancos are willing to up their offer and reach the €50 million-mark, although there will be some add-ons involved.

Davies to sign a four-year contract

Furthermore, the report states that Davies will be signing a four-year contract with Real Madrid once his move is finalised.

Even though there has been interest in him from other clubs, the 23-year-old has made it known that he only wants to play for Los Blancos.

And, even though an agreement to seal the operation is yet to be finalised, things seem to be headed in the right direction for Davies and Real Madrid.
