Popular boy group BTS’s V has openly talked about being a victim of stalking.

On the morning of the 27th at around 11:30 AM, V posted a photo on the live platform Weverse, with the backdrop of a twilight sky. He added, “I’m okay. Don’t worry.” He comforted fans who were concerned about him being a stalking victim.

On the evening of the 26th around 6:30 PM, a woman in her twenties, known as A, stalked V by following him into the elevator of his residence and speaking to him. It was reported that she waited in front of V’s residence and followed him into the apartment parking lot.

A fled the scene immediately after the incident, and the police, who received a report from the security guards, identified A through an investigation.

It has been confirmed that A has a history of stalking V. The police have taken emergency protective measures for V as the victim. The details of A’s actions are currently under investigation.

BTS’s agency, HYBE, stated in an official statement, “We strictly adhere to a zero-tolerance policy for stalking crimes that infringe upon the artist’s private life and threaten their safety.”

While V reassured fans not to worry, the incident sheds light on the fact that stalking artists is a crime that is absolutely unacceptable, even from the perspective of a fan.

Previously, members of BTS have spoken about the hardships caused by extreme fans who have followed them on multiple occasions.

In 2019, V said, “We also want to fly on airplanes. But we have people who know that we are boarding and sit around us.” He mentioned how uncomfortable it was not being able to relax in private spaces and expressed his hope that such incidents would not occur, stating, “It’s really scary.”
