Excitement is ramping up for the 58th edition of the Super Bowl, and on Saturday, his mother, Randi Mahomes, took to Instagram to hype up her superstar son.

Randi shared a short reel to Instagram from all the special moments from the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Chiefs beat the Ravens 17-10 and Randi took the opportunity to comment on her son’s achievements.

“Reliving these special moments… can’t wait for our family to be in Vegas next week! So so proud ” Randi wrote alongside a short video montage of moments from the game.

“I am in so awe of you son. Continue living your dreams. I love you. Reliving the AFC Championship win,” she added.

An emotional Randi also shared a selfie and reflected on Patrick’s journey so far.

“I can literally say I can’t remember a time you didn’t have a ball in your hand or something you wanted to play catch with. Easter egg, gum ball, or even socks.

“I’m super proud of you and I admire your hard work and dedication. I love you and so proud. Enjoy every moment, son.”

The heartfelt tribute came on the same night Mahomes’ father, Pat Mahomes Sr, was reportedly arrested on suspicion of a DWI (driving while intoxicated).

The 53-year-old, who divorced from Randi in 2006, was booked in the Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, on Saturday.

According to reports he was later released on $10,000 bail.

Mahomes’ mother has been vocal throughout the NFL postseason and shared a cryptic message in the aftermath of the Ravens game.

“NEVER WORRY about who will be offended if you speak the TRUTH. Worry about who will be misled, deceived & destroyed if you don’t,” the message read on Randi’s Instagram Stories.

The context of the message wasn’t immediately clear but some suggested it came in the wake of fans criticising her daughter-in-law and Patrick’s wife, Brittany Mahomes.

Brittany was reportedly criticised by some fans for her ‘high-horse- behaviour’ while interacting with a stadium employee at the Ravens game.

“Where do we go from here?” she allegedly asked while twirling her finger.

“I take rumours as a compliment. The fact that you’re bringing my name onto tables I don’t sit at shows your obsession. Stay bothered,” Brittany responded on Instagram.

The Mahomes clan, along with Taylor Swift, watched the Ravens game together in a private suite at M&T Bank Stadium.

They posed for a selfie together and celebrated as Mahomes and Travis Kelce made their fourth Super Bowl in five years.

A similar set-up could be on the cards this weekend in Super Bowl LVIII.
