Faker! Lady Gaga has admitted she used to pretend to be her own manager to try book herself gigs — complete with dodgy English accent

‘I just hit the pavement running and I was dragging my piano around New York City banging on doors.

‘I would call I up and I would be like: “Hello this is Lady Gaga’s manager, she’s really hot right now, we would like the 10pm slot for her if you can for her in,’ she disclosed, even donning a dodgy English accent to complete the deception

‘I used to just pretend I was my own manager to try and get the best gig that I could.’

Fast forward just 13 years and Miss Lady — as Ellen now refers to her — is about to play the lead role opposite Bradley Cooper in his directorial debut, A Star Is Born.

Speaking about their early discussions on the collaboration, the Mother Monster admitted she was blown away by her co-stars singing voice.

‘We’re both from the East Coast, and we’re both Italian, so before i knew it I was heating up leftovers in the kitchen and feeding him and we were talking about life,’ she recalled.

‘And then we started to sing together at the piano — a song by Credence Clearwater Revival, Midnight Special.

‘And I heard his voice and I stopped dead in my tracks and I said “Oh My Gosh Bradley… you can sing.

‘He sings from his soul,’ she gushed. ‘And you now what? Hes a great songwriter, he wrote on all of his songs for this film.’
