There’s now increasing speculation in the media regarding the future of Chelsea’s Armando Broja.
If the Blues do sell Armando Broja, we’re desperate for the club to react by going all in to try sign Brentford star Ivan Toney as a replacement.
As it stands, Broja’s the only senior available striker at Stamford Bridge. Therefore, letting the 22-year-old go is a very risky strategy in this window.
The Athletic recently reported that Chelsea are willing to sell Broja in January amid interest from a host of clubs.
We can get onboard with the idea of selling Broja, whose exit would bring in pure profit on the balance sheet. In addition, he’s struggled in the first half of the season as he feels the impact of a long-term injury.
We’d like to see Mauricio Pochettino’s side ready to launch an immediate move for Toney if Broja leaves.

In our view, Broja’s sale would be worth it if it led directly to Toney arriving at Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Simon Phillips claimed a few weeks ago via Substack that Chelsea’s owners internally discussed Toney as a transfer target.
Meanwhile, speaking via Sky Sports this week, Toney openly expressed his desire to play for a big club competing for silverware.
We think the 27-year-old Brentford striker should emerge as Chelsea’s priority focus.
Chelsea should go all in for Ivan Toney
For us, Toney is everything Chelsea could want in a No 9.
He’s proven in Brentford colours in recent years he’s a handful for Premier League defences with his pace, strength, intelligence and calmness in front of goal.
West Ham’s Michail Antonio recently said via the The Footballer’s Football Podcast that Toney is a “quality” striker that Chelsea should pay up to £80 million for.
As for where he’s at in terms of match fitness, we’ll learn a lot about that when he starts on Saturday in Brentford’s league match at home to Nottingham Forest.
It’s been a long eight-month gap for Toney without playing any competitive football, but Chelsea should be all over him if he looks sharp in today’s performance.
One more benefit of a January raid means Toney would have six months adjusting to a new environment before being ready to start next season with a bang from day one.
