The ladies behind Saltburn, Rosamund Pike, Emerald Fennell and Margot Robbie, reunited on Tuesday at the 14th annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles.

Rosamund, 45, stars in the psychological thriller as Lady Elspeth Catton, while Emerald, 38, wrote and directed the film.

Margot, 33, produced the film alongside her husband Tom Ackerley through their company LuckyChap Entertainment, after previously collaborating with Emerald on her 2020 movie Promising Young Woman.

The three stars looked nothing short of sensational as they posed together at the star-studded awards.

Rosamund exuded elegance in a stunning strapless gown adorned with fabric red roses and featuring a dramatically structured skirt.

The actress’ dress boasted a plunging bustier that showed off a hint of cleavage while she added a pair of bright pink gemstone earrings.

Margot dazzled in a black gown with a deep v-shaped neck and midriff cutouts that flashed a peek at her toned abs.

Her dress was encrusted in silver and diamond accents and the actress added even more sparkle with a pair of matching bejewelled waterfall earrings.

Emerald oozed sophistication in a sparkling high-necked black gown with an attached flowing cape that trailed behind her.

The Oscar winner’s dress was decorated from head to toe in tiny gemstones that gleamed under the camera flashes.

Saltburn has generated huge buzz since its release late last year and has seen stars Rosamund and Barry Keoghan nominated for a number of awards, including Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes.

The film follows Oxford University scholar Oliver, played by Barry, who is struggling to fit in with his plummy pals who have all been brought up with a silver spoon.

Oliver strikes up a friendship and infatuation with toff Felix (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to his family’s estate, Saltburn, for the summer where he meets Felix’s mother, played by Rosamund.

One moment that has sparked much reaction online is the bathtub scene, which is one of a few moments in the film which left viewers reeling.

The shocking scene sees Oliver trying to get to know his pal on a much more intimate level.

After Felix masturbates while having a soak in the tub, Oliver then sneaks in and slurps up the bath water.

Margot addressed the graphic scene this week, admitting that while it shocked many viewers, she was not remotely surprised by it.

She said: ‘It didn’t feel that shocking in the script, because Emerald [Fennell] immerses you into a world so quickly. She’s so masterful at tone and plot…

‘She gets you into it so quickly — you’re just immediately like, ‘I’m in this world.’ So by the time you get to something like the bathtub scene, she’s primed you for it.

Margot praised the way that Emerald manages to ‘get into the brains’ of her audience and claimed that the scene is a ‘watercooler moment’ that would get fans talking.

The Governors Awards is an annual event celebrating awards conferred by the Academy’s Board of Governors.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honored Angela Bassett, Mel Brooks, Carol Littleton and Michelle Satter at the event.

Academy President Janet Yang said in a press release of Angela’s nomination: ‘Across her decades-long career, Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting.’

The actress earned two Oscar nominations: first for best actress for 1993’s What’s Love Got to Do with It, and later for best supporting actress for last year’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where she played Queen Ramonda.

Angela gave a passionate speech, telling the crowd: ‘I have considered acting my calling and not just my career… to be recognized in this way for what I love doing is truly wonderful, and I am beyond grateful,’ as per the Hollywood Reporter.

‘I have had to let it sink in that I am the second Black actress to receive an honorary Academy Award [after the late Cicely Tyson]… and I hope that she is smiling from the heavens that I’m able to join her in that circle of recognition.’

She went on: ‘This, for me, is not just another award.’

The star then named Hattie McDaniel, the first Black actress to win an Academy Award in 1940, for Gone With the Wind: ‘She historically tore down a barrier… and it would be another 50 years before another Black woman would win an Oscar [referring to Whoopi Goldberg, who won for Ghost]… and still more than another decade before the next historic win [Halle Berry, who became the first Black best actress winner, for Monster’s Ball)… which, after more than two decades, remains “the only.”‘

She then shared the names of all Black actresses who have won Oscars: ‘Ten actresses who are makers of history in our industry. I call their names to acknowledge every one of them this evening for being beacons of possibility and hope for little Black and Brown girls who aspire to one day pursue the dream of becoming an actor.’

During the event Glenn Close was seen introducing Carol, before presenting the film editor with her honorary award.

Meanwhile legendary comedian and filmmaker Mel said, ‘This is beautiful. I got to tell you, this means a lot to me. It really means a lot,’ as he accepted his award.
