Man United’s Carrington training complex hasn’t had a “midfield boss” like Kobbie Mainoo in a while. He had an incredible Premier League debut against Everton in round 13. This year’s player is 18.
Mainoo is great, but Man United hasn’t allowed Shea Lacey, a player many analysts think has greater potential. Lacey was born in Liverpool but decided to play for Man United’s youth team, therefore GiveMeSport compared her to Wayne Rooney.
His background is akin to Wayne Rooney, but his playing style is like Man City’s left-footed Phil Foden, who can play in both оffensive corridors. Shea Lacey has played for English youth teams and is better than his Carrington Academy teammates, thus he gets a better start than Mainoo.
Lacey has 2 goals and 3 assists in 5 appearances for Man United’s U18 team this season, however ιnjury has hampered him. Most importantly, playing for the U18 team at 16 is difficult.
It takes time to prove talent, but Manucians can be proud that the team develops prospective players despite obstacles. With Mainoo’s promising pitch, Shea Lacey will soon join Man United’s first team.
