Who are the superstar stylists behind the top looks of BTS, BLACKPINK and NCT 127?

They are the ones who have contributed to creating extremely iconic looks of globally loved Korean stars.

1. Kim Young Jin

Known for his projects working with the band BTS , stylist Kim Young Jin is currently living in Seoul (South Korea). As a child, he often saved his pocket money to buy fashion magazines . Perhaps, the passion for the “world of velvet” soon sprouted in Kim Young Jin’s mind from that moment on. After graduating with a major in photography, his friends suggested he try his hand at being a stylist . Before taking on the role of main stylist for K-POP superstars , Kim Young Jin worked as an assistant to actor Jeon Jin Oh’s stylist for about 5 years.

I can mix Comme des Garçons and Yohji Yamamoto’s outfits, but the final mix still has to be aesthetically pleasing.” general concept. For me, the overall image is important when styling for an idol group ,” Kim Young Jin shared in an interview.

Sharing with the press, Wook Kim revealed that he does not have any special methods when styling famous stars. Wook Kim believes that becoming a part of the Korean music industry came naturally because he always sought to enjoy his working processes. The male stylist believes that fashion in the K-pop world is not outside of world trends but is improved and developed according to the unique personality and perspective of each artist.

Wook Kim is also the person behind BLACKPINK’s impressive techwear outfits in the MV Kill This Love. Inspired by the fictional character Lara Croft – he created an iconic image of the 4 BLACKPINK girls during this period. He was also involved in styling BLACKPINK when the group performed at Cochella in 2019.

3. Park Min Hee

Accompanying BLACKPINK since 2017, Park Min Hee is the stylist behind the “fever-inducing” looks of 4 global superstars. Responsible for the group’s style direction for 6 years, few people know that BLACKPINK were Park Min Hee’s first customers after she graduated.

Just starting out in her career, Park Min Hee sent an email to Choi Kyung Won – BLACKPINK’s stylist since their debut days. Surprisingly, that “fateful” email helped Park Min Hee get her dream job as a stylist for YG’s 4 golden girls. Park Min Hee’s working principle is to discuss to understand the wishes of the artists she works with, instead of working based on personal expertise and taste.

Perhaps that is why BLACKPINK has succeeded in building a group and individual image that is extremely luxurious and trendy.
