Spoilers for 2024 also tease a massive showdown between Esme, him, and Trina. So, it could also happen that after an explosive conflict between them, Spencer and Trina may decide that some time away from PC would serve them well.

GH/ Time for some Parisian Love?

In a more dramatic twist, there is also a possibility that the old evil Esme may return to General Hospital. Perhaps after being romantically rejected by Spencer, she may violently retaliate. Thus leading Spencer towards a stretch of coma in the hospital. Or even another kidnapping stint! Soap God knows how much General Hospital loves these kidnapping and captive storylines. That would easily explain away Spencer’s absence.
