Amid a swirl of rumors, Cardi B confirmed that she and Offset secretly got married back in September.
The rapper took to Twitter to share the news, writing a message in the Notes app: “There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments!” she wrote. “One morning in September, we woke up and decided to get married…I said I do, with no dress no make up and no ring!” For his part, Offset hinted at the truth when he said “I thank my wife” in his acceptance speech for Migos’s Best Group award during Monday night’s BET Awards.
Cardi B also spoke about her gratitude for Offset’s more public proposal at a concert in October. “I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me have [sic] that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!”
In true Cardi B fashion, she filtered nothing, calling out those who uncovered her secret union. “This why I name my album “Invasion of Privacy” cause people will do the most to be nosey about your life,” she declared.
The news comes on the cusp of Cardi B’s upcoming baby shower (the rapper confirmed in May that she’s expecting a baby girl). Over the past few days, she’s shared planning tidbits on social media—”Baby shower planning makes me not even wanna do a wedding,” she tweeted.
