Some people love their pets unconditionally for better or worse, while others adopt animals simply to entertain them until they grow old and weak, at which point they are discarded like trash. Unfortunately, these cold-hearted people still exist all over the world.The German Shepherd in this story once had a family he thought he belonged to, until he grew old and paralyzed and was abandoned in his old home with countless health problems. After Gianna Serena Manfredi and other volunteers from the Qua La Zampa Association found him near Bitonto, Bari, Italy, they named the poor canine “Heart.”Despite his problems with his ears, spine and hind legs, Heart was a true warrior and managed to move on his own. Gianna and a few other women had formed a group called “the remote moms” to take turns caring for the dog, and Heart was so happy to have found true love in the last days of his life. However, these days did not last forever. He could only stay with them for one year.When her time was about to come, Gianna decided to accompany him on his last trip to the sea. And it was absolutely beautiful.“We went to the sea, it was beautiful. “The wind caressed my ears, the waves hit the rocks, the sound of the sea in the silence of the still winter,” Gianna wrote. “It was a real relaxation. “I almost fell asleep, forgetting all the pain of abandonment by those who loved me little, the pain of the sores that are beginning to be felt, the pain of not being able to run with that little dog chasing her stone.”Heart passed away peacefully shortly after, knowing that he was loved and appreciated. He was sad, but at least he went to a better world where he would never be neglected again.
