Paris Hilton shared on Friday that she opted not to DJ for the President of the United States so that she could celebrated her friend Britney Spears‘ wedding.
The 42-year-old heiress posted a hastily recorded short update to her podcast This Is Paris from late at night after the surprise wedding on Thursday.
Although she offered few details on the event she turned down, Paris intimated that she had been asked to perform at Joe Biden‘s Summit of the Americas, which gathered leaders of countries throughout North, Central and South America in Los Angeles, not far from Britney’s wedding.

In her brief recording, Paris sounded tired and her voice was husky after a night of partying.
‘I was keeping it top secret all week. Literally I did not tell anyone, not even the people I asked to have dresses sent,’ she said.
She added that even her driver and her stylists were in the dark about the wedding, though they may have been expecting her to go to a different event that day.
‘I was actually asked to DJ for the president and all of the other presidents from around the world for the dinner, but this was more important to me,’ the fashion icon shared.

Paris kept things short and sweet, adding that she was ‘not going to go into any details, because it was the princess bride’s night, and that’s her story to tell.
‘But all I can say is I am just so incredibly happy for her. She looked stunning, and I’m just — it made me so happy to see that she found her fairytale, and they are a beautiful couple and just glowing,’ she gushed. ‘It really warmed my heart to see her so happy and free.’
She concluded, noting ‘That’s all I’m going to answer about that,’ before mentioning that she was going to bed because she had to wake up early on Friday.
Paris was among the A-listers as Britney’s home wedding, which included Madonna — who recreated their famous kiss — as well as Drew Barrymore, Selena Gomez, Donatella Versace and many more.
A source close to the simple Life star told E! News on Friday that Britney had been consulting with her old partying pal for advice ahead of her big day.
‘They keep in touch and Paris is happy to be there for Britney,’ the insider said. ‘She is excited to be a part of her life and be a friend to her.’

Paris and Britney’s friendship goes back to the early 2000s, when they were regularly spotted living up the nightlife together.
Although their hard-partying ways were curtailed after the pop superstar’s conservatorship was put in place, they’ve continued to be friends throughout the years and Paris has stayed in touch.
The wedding featured some major absences, as Britney reportedly did not invite her father Jamie, mother Lynne or sister Jamie Lynn, all of whom she has been feuding with since the final days of her conservatorship.
Her ex-husband Kevin Federline and her sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, also sat out the nuptials, though they wished her well.
Oh quite unwelcome guest was Britney’s first husband Jason Alexander, to whom she was only married for 55 hours before it was annulled.
In a bizarre live video, he documented his entrance to her house, where he made it up to the top floor despite being uninvited. Security later managed to remove him and he was subsequently arrested, when the chilling discovery that he had brought along a knife was made.
