Margot Robbie, the red carpet queen, dazzles in a plunging white-and-gold gown at the SAG Awards in Los Angeles.

She received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I in the historical film, Mary Queen Of Scots.

And, Margot Robbie looked every inch the red carpet queen when she arrived at the 25th SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Australian actress, 28, who received a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in the drama film, looked simply stunning as she posed in a plunging white-and-gold gown.

The Hollywood star revealed a generous glimpse of her cleavage in the daring frock, which featured semi-sheer golden weaving around the bodice and skirt.

Looking trim and terrific, the statuesque stunner let her floor-length frock do the talking by opting for minimal accessories- wearing a simple pair of drop earrings and a several gold rings.

Margot also wore an understated makeup palette, consisting of a luminous foundation, defined brows and a pop of muted tangerine lipstick.

She also applied a thin dusting of gold powder across her eyelids, enhancing her ice-blue gaze.

Last year, Margot was recognised by SAG for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I in the historical film, Mary Queen Of Scots.

Her nomination, which was announced in December 2018, came as a surprise as many critics had panned her performance.

A New York Post film critic wrote: ‘Margot Robbie chooses lame self-righteousness over drama, and shoves it in our faces for two hours. It’s a royal chore.’

A movie reviewer for The Guardian also wrote: ‘Robbie… never really convinces with the accent or the appearance and one can almost feel her focusing on both so much that she forgets to add much else to the role.’

They added that Margot’s role in the film was ‘a glaring miscast’ that brought down the overall quality of the production.

Margot herself previously told the BBC she believed she was not the right actress for the role.

The Oscar nominee said she told the film’s director Josie Rourke: ‘I’m not the right actress for this. I didn’t go to university, I don’t have a degree, I didn’t do theatre, I’m not classically trained, I learned on the job.’

Apparently, Josie was unconcerned and replied: ‘I don’t want you to play a queen, I want you to play a young woman.’

SAG awards: Margot (pictured) has been nominated in her category alongside Amy Adams (Vice), Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), and Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz (The Favourite)

She added: ‘That unblocked the character for me in a big way, and from then it was really [about] finding her humanity and finding her vulnerable place beneath the facade.’

The 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place on January 27 at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
