Gal Gadot says the ‘world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening’ following Hamas attacks – as speculation mounts she may be called up to FIGHT 16 years after IDF service

Gal Gadot has demanded the world not ‘sit on the fence’ over the war in Israel and Palestine after hundreds were murdered by a terror attack on Saturday.

The Wonder Woman actress, 38, served in the Israeli Defense Forces as a combat trainer over a decade ago, leading some to wonder if she could be called to fight in the war with Hamas.

Over the weekend, the former Miss Israel 2004 was one of the first Hollywood names to support Israel, writing: ‘I stand with Israel you should too. The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!’

The star has also asked her followers to donate funds for those affected by the weekend’s attacks, which left hundreds of Israeli soldiers and civilians left.

Gadot also shared a video of U2’s Sunday show at the Sphere in Las Vegas, where the band dedicated their song Pride (In the Name of Love) to the hundreds of music fans killed and kidnapped at a music festival in Israel on Saturday.

Bono tweaked the hit’s lyrics to say: ‘Sing for our brothers and sisters — who they themselves were singing at the Supernova Sukkot festival in Israel… We sing for those. Our people, our kind of people, music people. Playful, experimental people. Our kind of people. We sing for them.’

During his concert, Bono added: ‘In the light of what’s happened in Israel and Gaza, a song about non-violence seems somewhat ridiculous, even laughable, but our prayers have always been for peace and for non-violence… But our hearts and our anger, you know where that’s pointed. So sing with us… and those beautiful kids at that music festival.’

‘Thank you U2 and Bono for supporting Israel,’ Gadot wrote on her Instagram story.

Gadot served for two years in the IDF, which is mandatory for Israelis, and has said being in the military helped her with discipline and teamwork skills, which she now applies in filmmaking.

‘It’s not about you, you’re not number one. Right now we’re doing something for a greater objective and when you film a movie, the greater objective is to make a great movie,’ she told Fox in August.

‘I’m not spoiled, I know how to work hard. I have a really strong work ethic and I think it’s related to that.’

All Israelis citizens are subject to being called on to fight as the nation enters what experts have called the worst conflict between Israel and Palestine in decades.

As many as 300,000 Israeli reservists have already been called to join the IDF forces.

It’s not clear if the star has been called up as a reservist. DailyMail.com has reached out to Gadot’s team for comment on this story.

Gadot and other stars such as Kylie JennerMadonna and Amy Schumer have received abuse online from pro-Palestinian social media users after voicing support for the Jewish nation. Some even demanded the actress be boycotted.

‘I unfollowed nina dobrev ian Somerhalder , gal gadot, Thibaut Courto is blocked kylie jenner cause i ve never followed her in the first place the list keep increasing and im here for it,’ said one X user.

Another said: ‘Gal Gadot, Madonna, Mark Hamill, Amy Schumer, Natalie Portman and more disappointedly, Jamie Lee Curtis all publicly supporting Israel I stand with Palestine against Israel’s illegal occupation of their land.’

A third said: ‘I hate gal gadot with all my heart. Every movie or shows with her in it I don’t even watch it. It’s not that hard to boycott & ignore them!’

Meanwhile, former porn star Mia Khalifa has been loudly supporting Hamas’ armed attack on civilians online.

The 30-year-old repeatedly supported the group’s bombings and kidnappings to her five million followers on X, urging the aggressors to film horizontally so she could better watch the carnage.

The Lebanese-American posted: ‘Can someone please tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal.’

The Palestinian terrorist group stormed the Supernova Festival that had been taking place near Kibbutz Re’im, close to the Gaza Strip, as part of its surprise assault launched on Saturday.

This morning, harrowing dashcam footage from the incident showed gunmen executing civilians as they lay in the sand before rifling through their pockets and emptying bags from their cars.

But the former porn star was not moved by the criticism, and continued defending Hamas’ actions as justified.

She reposted a message saying ‘the United States of America is also a terrorist state’ and went after Kylie Jenner for sharing and then deleting a message in support of Israel.

‘If true journalism exists, the next person to talk to Kylie Jenner will ask for her opinion on geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and not break eye contact until she can string one coherent sentence together since she wants to take a stance to her 400M followers so badly,’ Khalifa wrote.

More than 700 Israeli soldiers and civilians were shot dead or blown up in rocket attacks launched by the Palestinian gunmen on Saturday, who mowed down some 260 innocent people at a music festival in a brutal, unexpected offensive that drew comparisons with the 9/11 attacks or Pearl Harbour.

In retaliation, Israel’s Defence Forces (IDF) and air force pounded the Gaza Strip with air strikes and missile attacks, claiming they hit more than 1,000 Hamas targets in the past two days.

Now, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said authorities will cut electricity to the Gaza Strip and block the entry of food and fuel, declaring his troops are ‘fighting barbaric [terrorists] and will respond accordingly’.

The measures will essentially enact siege-like conditions that will see the millions of Palestinians living in the tiny, fenced-in region begin to starve as they are attacked from the skies.

The announcement comes as Israeli soldiers backed by helicopters killed at least two gunmen who crossed the northern border from Lebanon today, in a sign of a possible new front opening as Israel’s forces continued to battle Hamas terrorists to the south. Artillery shelling and gunfire were heard at Lebanon’s southern border with Israel, a local journalist said.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally declared war on Sunday and the army called up around 300,000 reservists, suggesting greater fighting lies ahead with a possible ground assault into Gaza.

Netanyahu has vowed to completely destroy ‘the military and governing capabilities’ of Hamas, which is deeply rooted in Gaza and has ruled unchallenged since 2007.
