LeBron James ascends to the eighth spot on the NBA’s all-time list for made three-pointers.

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James moved to eighth place on the NBA‘s all-time regular season three-pointers list during their 125-110 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

James passed Jason Terry after he hit the 2,283rd three-point shot of his career.

Next on the list for him to get past is Vince Carter, who sits on 2,290 three-pointers made for seventh place on the all-time list.

James’ historic three-pointer came with just under two minutes left in the second quarter of the game, when point guard D’Angelo Russell passed him the ball wide open near the left hash.

The 38-year-old also became the second oldest player in NBA history to record a triple-double after finishing the game with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists.

James also became the second oldest player to record a triple-double behind Karl Malone

James’ heroics were not enough to stop the Sacramento Kings from pulverizing the Lakers

He now trails only Karl Malone, who recorded a triple-double at age 40 while also playing for the Lakers.

Despite James’ history making night, however, his numbers were clearly not enough to stop the Lakers from getting pulverized by the much more energetic Kings.

Four of Sacramento’s five starters scored in double figures, with three of those four scoring well over 20 points.

Kings starting guards De’Aaron Fox and Kevin Huerter both scored 28 points, while center Domantas Sabonis scored 29.

Aside from James the only other Laker to score more than 20 points was Russell who also finished the game with 28 and the lone other player to break double figures was forward Cam Reddish.
