BTS surpasses NewJeans, Blackpink becomes a powerful entertainment figure in 2023

According to Korean media, BTS topped the “Annual Powerful Entertainment Figures List” in 2023 despite their temporary hiatus.

According to information from Korean media, media agencies conducted a survey to see which celebrity has the greatest power in the Korean entertainment industry this year.

This survey was conducted from September 18 to September 25, 2023. The survey involved 200 participants from the entertainment and broadcasting industry, creators and entertainment journalists.

Experts rely on 2023’s outstanding dramas, variety shows, movies, actors and singers to make voting criteria.

At the top of the list, even if there are members performing military service, is the group BTS.

According to Korean media, members Jin, J-Hope and Suga began military service, but the remaining members of the BTS group RM, V, Jimin and Jungkoo continued to pursue solo activities. , thus, the group still maintains its global influence.

In this survey, BTS won a total of 35 votes. The win shows BTS’ lasting influence and popularity in an ever-evolving pop culture landscape.

BTS’ achievements include topping the Billboard 200, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100, winning multiple American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards, and earning Grammy nominations.

BTS was recognized diplomatically as special envoys of the President of Korea at the United Nations General Assembly and the recent meeting with US President Joe Biden at the White House.

Following BTS is male artist Lim Young Woong. He won 30 votes. Receiving widespread love from middle-aged and older fans in Korea, Lim Young Woong has achieved many achievements in his career.

His 2022 album ‘I’m Hero’ surpassed 1.1 million sales.

Third place belongs to NewJeans with 19 votes. Since their debut, NewJeans has established a solid position on domestic and international charts with hits such as “Hype Boy”, “Ditto”, “Super Shy” and “ETA”.

Min HeeJin – the person behind the success of NewJeans, TV personality Dex and Jennie of global music group Blackpink all tied for 4th place with 10 votes each. What’s interesting is that the group Blackpink only won 9 votes and ranked 7th.

Standing in 8th place with 6 votes each are Yoo Jae Suk, Bang Si Hyuk, Lee Hyori, Kim Eun Sook and actress Lim Ji Yeon.

Song Hye Kyo, Son Suk Goo, Go Yoon Jung, Han So Hee, Kian84… each won 4 votes.
