Paul Scholes fumes at Man Utd stars Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho in now-deleted post over ‘standards’

PAUL SCHOLES has hit out at two Manchester United stars over their outfits in training.

Man Utd stars were training today in preparation for Saturday’s clash against Bournemouth.

As the rain fell at Carrington, Mainoo and Garnacho wrapped up in hats and gloves.

But Scholes was incensed by the teenagers’ choice to put their hoods up.

He posted a photo of the duo and raged on Instagram: “Don’t mind hats and gloves but no way can you train properly with your hood up.

“Standards begin on the training pitch… bye!”

Despite their training ground looks, both youngsters have been bright sparks in a poor season for the Red Devils.

Mainoo has burst onto the scene this year and already forced his way into England squad ahead of Euro 2024.

And Garnacho has found the back of the net nine times in all competitions – only Rasmus Hojlund has scored more.

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Erik ten Hag and Man Utd face an uphill to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

They sit 11 points behind both Tottenham in fourth and Aston Villa in fifth.

And Scholes believes Ten Hag’s days at Old Trafford could be numbered.

He said last month: “What we’re seeing is a million miles away from a team that should be challenging for the league. Every single season it’s just so far away.

“I think they [Ineos] have already made their mind up. I don’t think Ten Hag will be there next season. No.

“From the interviews we’ve heard with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, I thought there was a little bit of negativity towards the club the last ten or 11 years and especially the last two years.

“I don’t think he’s happy with what’s going on.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re looking for a new manager now. I’m not saying it’s the right decision.

“With new owners anyway they always tend to change the manager and especially with the way they’re playing.

“Where there are in the league and what it’s been like in the last couple of seasons, I just think they’ll make a change.”
