Leading man: Henry Cavill put on a dapper display as he attended the premiere for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. on Friday at Somerset House in London

Speaking ahead of the premiere at Somerset House, the 32-year-old admitted he had to apologise to his female co-star after becoming aroused while acting out a romp.

‘It’s only happened to me once, and it was very embarrassing,’ he told Men’s Fitness, describing the moment he became more than a little excited while in the presence of a certain busty actress.

‘A girl had to be on top of me, she had spectacular breasts, and I hadn’t rearranged my stuff into a harmless position.

‘She’s basically rubbing herself all over me and, um, it got a bit hard.’

The actor took part in a number of steamy scenes in his role as Charles Brandon, the Duke of Suffolk, the majority of which were filmed with actress Gabrielle Anwar.

Stepping on to the red carpet with the film’s director, who made his first appearance with his new wife Jacqui Ainsley, Cavill appeared to have brushed off the admission.

Dressed in blue trousers, a blue shirt and a bomber jacket of the same hue, the Jersey-born actor maintained a cool exterior as he mingled with co-stars.

Cavill takes on the role of Napoleon Solo in the film which follows two fictional spies as they embark on espionage at the height of the Cold War.

He is joined in the film by Armie Hammer, Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Debicki, Alicia Vikander.

Cavill’s character is forced to team up with his KGB counterpart Illya Kuryakin, played by Hammer, to prevent the detonation of an atom bomb.

Alongside his 𝑠e𝑥 scene confession, Cavill previously admitted to struggling in his attempts at an American accent.

‘I definitely struggled at the beginning because we hadn’t found the accent by the time we started shooting,’ he told Glamour.

‘When we were shooting Guy would come in and say “No, that sounds wrong,” or “this sounds wrong” or “try and say the word this way” and because there’s no uniform structure to it, it became very difficult to perform and you become very conscious of speaking as opposed to acting and feeling.

‘Eventually we found it about a quarter of the way through the movie because we found a way of speaking that was consistent.’
