“That’s where I got all my info”: While Rest of the Actors Read the Script, Henry Cavill Just Read the Entire Book the Movie’s Based on to Prepare for ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’

Henry Cavill’s unconventional preparation for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare involved immersing himself in the book the movie is adapted from.

In an industry where actors normally stick to scripts, Henry Cavill does things differently. He was preparing for his role in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare in an extraordinary way. While others were occupied with scripts, the actor was profound in the book that the film is based on.

This out-of-the-box technique shows how serious he is about getting the story’s intricate details and its historical background. The 40-year-old’s commitment shows his affection for acting and how seriously he takes his role. It has fans eager to see what he’ll bring to the table in his upcoming flick.

Henry Cavill Took A Different Path To Prepare For The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is loaded with action, drama, and a touch of Guy Ritchie’s humor, as Henry Cavill and his team take on the Nazis for some eccentric strategies. It is based on a book by Damien Lewis, and Ritchie, alongside Arash Amel, Paul Tamasy, and Eric Johnson, wrote the script.

The 40-year-old did things differently to prepare for his role. While every other person was simply focusing on the script, he went directly to the book that inspired the film. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Cavill discussed how he got to know his character.

The actor said,

“Via Script actually, that was my first access point and then I read the book which the script is based upon, and that’s where I got all my info. We kind of just created this sort of hyperbolic version of the character to fit into this movie.”

This uncommon approach to preparing shows how committed Cavill is, and it hints at a standout performance in the film. It’s a refreshing change for Cavill, who’s been searching for a role like this for a really long time.

Over the past decades, Cavill’s become more and more popular, because of enormous roles like Superman and Geralt of Rivia. Now, he’s taking the lead in the 55-year-old’s World War II flick.

Interestingly, Cavill’s co-stars think he’d make an incredible James Bond.

Eiza González Thinks Henry Cavill Is Ideal For James Bond

Eiza Gonzalez in Baby Driver

Eiza González thinks Henry Cavill is spot-on for James Bond. Amid ongoing speculation about the next 007, González, co-star of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, firmly backs Cavill.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she sees Cavill as the ideal fit for the famous James Bond role abandoned by Daniel Craig. She stated,

“It’s hard not to look at Henry Cavill and think of James Bond, to be really honest. Obviously, I’m part of the group of people that are rooting for him to get it hopefully, if that was a possibility.”

Her support fuels the buzz around Cavill, possibly wearing the Bond persona. Fans enthusiastically anticipate any official word on Cavill’s Bond journey, with González’s help intensifying their excitement.

Cavill has long been considered a strong contender for Bond, even coming close to snagging the role in 2006’s Casino Royale reboot.

While many others share González’s feeling about Cavill’s suitability for Bond, current signs suggest he might lose to Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for Kick-Ass and Bullet Train. Although Cavill probably won’t land the coveted Bond role, fans can still get him in action as an alternate sort of spy in his upcoming film.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is set to be released on April 19, 2024.
