Nicolas Jackson can do something tomorrow in Chelsea vs Burnley that hasn’t happened since 2011

Tomorrow sees Chelsea return to action at last after the uneventful international break has finally come to an end.

They return to Premier League action at Stamford Bridge, where they will taking on a struggling Burnley side who will be without loanee David Datro Fofana against his former club.

Mauricio Pochettino will be confident that even though he is missing a heap of players due to injury, the Blues will have enough quality to get the job done.

Palmer and Jackson fit to face Burnley

While he will of course be delighted to see Cole Palmer back with a clean bill of health off the back of an injury scare on international duty, he will be equally as pleased to have Nicolas Jackson ready and raring to go.

In seven starts since returning from the African Cup of Nations, he has only failed to score or assist in one of those games, making him an extremely solid asset for the Blues right now.

He currently sits on nine goals in the Premier League right now, which is impressive considering it is his first campaign in the league.

Jackson one off 10 goals and yellow cards

What is perhaps not so impressive though is the fact that he is on the same amount as far as yellow cards go, also sitting on nine.

With him having an opportunity to pick up one of each tomorrow, he has a chance to become the third player in their debut season to rack up 10 of each in the Premier League, according to BBC Sport.

The last player to achieve this was Charlie Adam back in 2010/11, and this could see Jackson set a piece of perhaps noval history.

Whether this is known at Stamford Bridge or not, Jackson will certainly be on the teamsheet tomorrow off the back of his good form.

It remains to be seen though whether he will help the Blues to victory against Burnley, and see them begin their late push for a European place.
