From The Matrix films to the John Wick saga, Reeves has proved that his presence is the lucky charm for these film series to attain iconic status in Hollywood. Now, the Speed actor is all set to reprise his dark and edgy 2005 role in Constantine 2 which is currently under development.

Though the first film received mixed reactions upon release, it grew to have a cult following later on for its slick action and impressive production design. While the sequel was announced in 2022, the release date of the film is yet to be made public. Keanu Reeves is the undisputed king of the franchise world and is now set to make a sequel to another one of his cult films, Constantine. The 2005 film loosely based on the DC Comics/Vertigo Comics Hellblazer graphic novels, sees Reeves as a cynical exorcist with the ability to communicate with half-angels and half-demons while travelling back to Heaven and Hell.

After almost 2 decades, the film which developed a cult following, has now got the greenlight for a sequel. While the announcement was made in 2022, Constantine 2 is currently still in development with no release date announced yet. But this hasn’t stopped fans from speculating on what the narrative will have in store.

A brilliant concept trailer created by Darth Trailer is creating a lot of buzz and hype with its vision for Constantine 2’s storyline. The channel which is known for impressive mashups, shows Reeves back to his swashbuckling best while confronting demons and angels as John Constantine.

Along with the stylish action edits, the video also features inspired dialogue from the novels that could hint at what’s in store for Constantine 2 which will be once again directed by Francis Lawrence.

“I’ve seen angels fall. But I rise above. They think they can break me. I’ve been to hell and back. And it’s going to take more than that constantly.” 

While the excitement for Constantine 2 is high, many fans are also speculating on how the film will fit into James Gunn’s newly-minted DC universe. Apart from Reeves reprising his role as Constantine, viewers will be eager to see the potential return of Peter Stormare as Lucifer.

Keanu Reeves Had A Tough Action Sequence In Speed

Keanu Reeves is popular not just for his arresting personality, but also for his flair for action in his films. The star has been popularly known to do his own stunts in many of his projects including The Matrix series and the John Wick franchise. But courting danger did not come naturally to the star by his own confession.

Reeves recalled a memorable scene from his cult film Speed in which his cop character had to jump from a Jaguar onto a moving bus. This extremely well-executed segment was ultimately performed by a stuntman for the final take.

But Reeves, after some convincing, tried to perform the movement himself during rehearsals. Remembering the adrenaline rush, the celebrity said to Huffington Post

“The shot in the film is a stuntman, but I got to do it once. The stunt coordinator Gary Hymes really took care of me and came up with inventive ways of putting me in those situations. Through harnessing, he got me under the bus at 30 mph.”Despite the reluctance in his initial days to try his own stunts, the love for action grew on Keanu Reeves as time went on, which resulted in the actor doing many of his own action sequences in his future films.Constantine can be rented on Apple TV.
