Henry Cavill became known worldwide after his appearance as Clark Kent a.k.a Superman in the DCEU film Man of Steel. The actor reprised his role as the iconic superhero in Batman V Superman, Justice League, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and Black Adam before the franchise was rebooted by James Gunn. Cavill has had utmost reverence for his role.

While Cavill has been a part of other franchises such as Enola Holmes and Mission Impossible, he seems to have a soft spot for one spy film that was considered a box office bomb upon release. In 2015, Henry Cavill starred in Guy Ritchie’s film adaptation of the popular TV show The Man From U.N.C.L.E. The film also starred Armie Hammer and Hugh Grant.

While Henry Cavill was promoting his recent spy thriller, Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle, he was asked by Collider which film he would introduce himself to someone who has never watched his films. He said,

“I’m gonna try and keep it somewhat in the family. It’s an old colleague of Matthew’s — The Man from U.N.C.L.E. would be good.”

The film had earned a meager $110 million against a $75 million budget, making it a box office failure for the studio. However, Cavill and Ritchie did not seem to care as they will soon be reuniting on the upcoming action comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Henry Cavill has been the face of many iconic characters in pop culture and has been a part of many blockbuster franchises. The actor had also gained a huge fan following due to his role in the historical fiction series The Tudors. The actor was also reportedly considered for the role of James Bond and was up against Daniel Craig, who ended up bagging the role.

When asked which was the one role or scene that made the actor nervous on the night before filming, he gave a generalized answer, saying that every scene brings in some amount of anxiety. However, he then chose his appearance as Albert Mondego in the film The Count of Monte Cristo. He said to Collider,

“To everyone else’s point, I think you can get nervous and scared before most scenes, really…But before I knew that, it was The Count of Monte Cristo, which was my first-ever professional job. I was fresh out of school, and I was terrified. It was a big movie and I just didn’t know what to expect and I didn’t know if I was going to be able to do it. That was a pretty terrifying experience.”

Henry Cavill was then asked by Argylle director Matthew Vaughn if he was also terrified while putting on Superman’s cape for the first time, to which he replied in the affirmative.
