Sinking feeling: After battling a career and public image crisis, golfer Tiger Woods (pictured here in May) is dealing with major structural damage to his mega-mansion

According to a TMZ report, Tiger had noticed sagging in the dining room and when contractors came out to cure the problem, they opened up the floor and found a huge hole.

Builders believe that the cause of the problem could be pilings that are misplaced, with some even missing completely.

So far the structural crisis seems to be limited to the dining room, but they don’t know that for sure yet.

The scandal-riddled sports star moved into the massive mansion in 2011 – which boasts a running track and four-hole golf course – after he his marriage to Elin Nordegren ended in a hugely expensive divorce.

The fabulous house on the ultra exclusive island overlooking the Atlantic Ocean was bought by the couple before their high-profile split, and Woods continued with the architectural project even after the break-up.

Following their divorce – which is rumoured to have cost Woods $100 million – the former World Number One took over the planning and transformed the property into a state of the art bachelor pad.

Since then, he has been spending time there with new girlfriend, Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, who he has been dating since March.

The surprise coupling has reportedly infuriated the golfer’s Swedish ex-wife, Elin. ‘She hates Lindsey Vonn and everything about this romance,’ a source recently told Us Weekly, adding that Elin is ‘angry Tiger even has visitation rights to the kids.’

Nordegren has also reportedly moved on, however, after being romantically linked to coal magnate Chris Cline – who lives near her $12 million estate in North Palm Beach – earlier this year.

The mansion, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, boasts huge windows for incredible sea views and has a glass-fronted lift for anyone too tired to take the stairs.

According to his architects’ plans, the basement also houses a large wine cellar and possibly a cinema and games area with the best equipment for Woods’ children Sam,5, and Charlie, 4.

Woods said on his blog at the time that he was particularly excited about using his new 3.5-acre back yard golf course.

‘Working with my team, I designed the short-game facility and oversaw its construction,’ he revealed. ‘It features four greens, six bunkers with different depths and kinds of sand, a video center and a putting studio.’
