Throwing caution to the wind: Lady Gaga arrives to the book launch of LADY GAGA x TERRY RICHARDSON in New York tonight in a sheer Dolce & Gabbana lace dress despite the rainy weather

Of course the Born This Way star is not one to let the weather dictate her wardrobe choice – which explained why her couture often throws caution to the wind, so to speak.

Gaga has teamed up with renowned fashion photographer Terry Richardson for her latest project – a new book titled LADY GAGA x TERRY RICHARDSON.

It shows never-seen-before photos of the singer after Richardson followed the singer around for a year capturing key moments along the way.

The book is not released until November 22, but the Bad Romance singer has given her ‘little monsters’ a sneak peek in video footage where she reads an excerpt.

Gaga has been busy in New York over the past 24 hours.

Last night she made a surprise appearance at the International Emmys in an long black dress complete with a large hole around the thigh.

She presented American Idol’s executive producer Nigel Lythgoe with an International Emmy Founders Award, which among other things honoured him for his work on reality shows.

Hours earlier, the American star turned up for the launch of GAGA’S WORKSHOP at U.S. department store Barneys New York.

Taking over the entire, 5500-square foot, fifth floor of the Madison Avenue Men’s store, The Workshop is divided into elaborate structural shops, such as a jewellery shop created out of an oversized Lady Gaga-turned-spider and a boudoir in the shape of a giant wig.

Working with the Barneys New York team, Eli Sudbrack and avaf have designed giant sculpture installations as well as signature artwork for GAGA’S WORKSHOP which is featured on special holiday shopping bags and packaging.

There are eight stations in GAGA’S WORKSHOP, reflecting the product categories available for sale, as well as a number of iconic references to Lady Gaga herself.

Stations include: Candy Shop, Toy Shop, Closet (for apparel and accessories), Library (for books, CDs, media, and paper goods), Gallery (for collectibles and speciality items), Jewellery, Boudoir (for candles and cosmetics), and Holiday.

Barneys New York is donating 25 per cent of sales from all items featured in GAGA’S WORKSHOP to the Born This Way Foundation, recently founded and announced by Lady Gaga and her mother.
