Rihanna studied Beyonce’s past performances to prepare for her own Super Bowl LVII Halftime concert, acknowledging her as a formidable talent.

Rihanna admitted that she ‘watched’ Beyonce‘s past Super Bowl performances when opening up about her own preparation for her anticipated Halftime LVII concert.

The Umbrella hitmaker, 34, explained on the latest episode of The Process With Nate Burleson, which also aired earlier Sunday, that the 32-time Grammy winner helped ‘inspire’ her.

‘I watched Beyoncé’s halftime performances a couple of times,’ the mother of one revealed. The former Destiny’s Child member notably took to the Halftime stage both in 2013 for Super Bowl XLVII and in 2016 for Super Bowl 50.

The talented singer will be stepping onto the stage for her first live television concert in five years, and during a panel held earlier Thursday, admitted that she had gone through 39 different set lists to get the performance just right.

On the iHeart podcast episode, Rihanna further gushed that the Alien Superstar performer ‘is a beast and a whole other level,’ and added she studied Beyonce’s past shows, ‘Just to be inspired, really.’

Beyonce, who recently became the first music artist to have garnered the most Grammy wins in history, performed back in 2013 during Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, and was also joined by her other former Destiny’s Child members, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

Three years later, the Single Ladies star jumped onto the same stage and held a star-studded concert for Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara with Bruno Mars and Coldplay.

During a recent panel discussion held earlier Thursday, Rihanna, who welcomed her first child last year in May with rapper, A$AP Rocky, teased what fans and viewers can expect for the Halftime concert.

When talking about the stage itself, the Savage x Fenty founder stated, ‘I mean, it’s literally, like, 300 to 400 people breaking the stage down and building it back up and getting it out in eight minutes. It’s incredible. It’s almost impossible,’ according to Page Six.

She further discussed her ‘jam-packed show’ and the difficulty she faced to configure a proper set list, after turning down the chance to perform on the Halftime stage in 2019.

‘That was the hardest, hardest part. Deciding how to maximize 13 minutes, but also celebrate. And that’s what this show’s going to be; a celebration,’ she admitted to the panel moderator, Nadeska Alexis.

The Barbados-born singer added, ‘You’re going to see on Sunday, just from the time it starts, it just never ends, until it’s like the very last second.’

Rihanna explained, ‘There are a lot of people who are a part of this show, and a huge part of the reason why this show is going to be as incredible as it is. I couldn’t have done it without them.’

Although Rihanna initially turned down the opportunity to be a headliner for the Halftime show in 2019, she revealed that ‘now’ felt like the perfect time for her to take on the coveted role.

‘When I first got the call to do it again this year, I was like, ‘You sure? I’m three months postpartum, should I be making major decisions like this right now? Like, I might regret this,’ she stated, according to the outlet.

The Disturbia singer explained that becoming a ‘mom’ helped her feel like she ‘can take on the world, you can do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world.’

The songstress explained that she hadn’t taken to the live stage in years, but expressed that, ‘there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all.’

‘And it’s important for me to do this this year. It’s important for representation and it’s important for my son to see that.’

Rihanna herself isn’t the only one who is ready for the anticipated performance, and a number of other celebrities have expressed their excitement to watch the singer’s concert.

The lead vocalist for Coldplay, Chris Martin, recently gushed on The Zane Lowe podcast, per People, that he believed the beauty is, ‘the best singer of all time.’

‘So it’s hard for me, I’m very biased because I’m such a big Rihanna fan. I mean, I think she could just walk out in sweatpants and sing, and that would be just great,’ the Viva La Vida singer added.

Adele stated earlier this month during her own concert that she would be flying down to the State Farm Stadium in Arizona, ‘just to see Rihanna.’

The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker announced the revelation to a fan mid concert during her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, adding, ‘I don’t give a flying f***!’ reported Us Weekly.

Both award-winning singers not only look up to each other for their individual talent, but have been close friends for over a decade.

Rihanna will perform her anticipated Super Bowl LVII Halftime show during the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday.
