Former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello believes that Los Blancos need Manchester City’s scoring machine – Erling Haaland more than Kylian Mbappe.
Real Madrid continues to be rumored with a move to recruit PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe, but the French international has not yet made a decision about his future. There are reports that Los Blancos could turn to Haaland if they miss the chance to get the French striker.
Haaland’s former teammate at Dortmund, Jude Bellingham, is said to be in contact with the Man City superstar to convince him to land at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, coach Fabio Capello said that Mbappe is a more complete player, but also explained why Haaland is more needed at Real Madrid.
The Italian strategist told Marca : “Mbappe is not a central striker, he likes to play more on the wing. Real Madrid already has Vinicius, but Mbappe is Mpbappe! If Real Madrid are going to sign, they must wondering if I have a center striker or not.”
“At the moment they don’t have a striker and the club needs that more. But if you look at the technical quality, who is the better player, Mpappe is above Haaland.”

Real Madrid has been without a star striker this season after parting ways with Karim Benzemab in the summer transfer window of 2023. Meanwhile, veteran striker Joselu has returned to the club on a season-long loan. but has only scored 5 goals in La Liga this season.
Los Blancos have the option to make a permanent purchase agreement with Joselu, but they will certainly bring in top talents like Mbappe or Haaland to strengthen their squad in the summer market.
Above all, Los Blancos are waiting for Mbappe’s decision. The striker is not expected to decide on his future until June.
