From The Boys to Green Lantern: Gen V Actor Transforms in Striking DCU Art.

DCU fan art imagines Gen V’s Patrick Schwarzenegger as Hal Jordan in the DCU.

New fan art for the DCU pictures Patrick Schwarzenegger as Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern.

Recently playing the role of Golden Boy in the first season of Gen V, a spinoff of Amazon’s hit series The Boys, Schwarzenegger has come up with fans as a good pick for someone to play Hal Jordan in the DCU. In an interview with CBR, the actor confirmed he’d be interest in playing the role if offered, saying of the possibility, “I’m available.” Digital artist 21xfour has now gone ahead and crafted some artwork imagining Schwarzenegger as Hal Jordan, and the imagery can be seen below.

“I was first introduced to Patrick Schwarzenegger in the spinoff of The Boys series, Gen V,” the artist said of the fan casting in an X post. “He’s a brilliant actor with a wide range of emotions. I could easily see him in the role of Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern. He checks all the boxes for the character… So, I did what I do best and created what I think he could look like in the DCU.”

One version of Green Lantern has already been cast in the DCU, as it’s been reported that Nathan Fillion will play Guy Gardner with his first appearance in Superman: Legacy. It’s also been revealed how there are plans to make a Green Lantern series set in the DCU, dubbed Lanterns, which would follow different versions of the superhero. It seems probable that Hal Jordan will be included in some way, though no actors have yet been announced for the part. Hal Jordan was previously played by Ryan Reynolds in the Green Lantern movie, but fans should not expect to see him reprise the role in the DCU.

The first series of the DCU is the animated show Creature Commandos. It will be given a streaming release on Max in late 2024, and its characters are also expected to appear in the live-action DCU with the same actors in those roles. Other planned series for the DCU, aside from Lanterns and Creature Commandos, include WallerParadise Lost, and Booster Gold. A second season of Peacemaker is also in the works, and The Batman director Matt Reeves is producing an Arkham Asylum series that will be set in the DCU.

It is unclear when the Lanterns series will be released, but the Ryan Reynolds movie is streaming on Netflix and Max.
