PEOPLE spoke with the host of GLAAD’s Fifth Annual Spirit Day about sister Ariana, who finalized her divorce from Gomez this month after two years marriedFrankie and Ariana Grande in New Hope, Pennsylvania, on Oct.

Ariana Grande is “doing great,” according to her brother Frankie Grande!

On Wednesday, the dancer and actor, who was the host of this year’s GLAAD’s Fifth Annual Spirit Day, exclusively spoke to PEOPLE at the event in Downtown Los Angeles.

Asked about how Ariana is doing following her divorce from Dalton Gomez, Frankie, 40, says, “We’re all doing great. Thank you so much for asking.”

Ariana, 30, settled her divorce from Gomez, 28, earlier this month, weeks after the singer filed for divorce in Los Angeles County on Sept. 18. The two tied the knot in May 2021.

She has since moved on with her Wicked costar Ethan Slater, the latter of whom PEOPLE learned in July had separated from his wife Lilly Jay. Slater, 31, and Jay married in fall 2018.Frankie Grande hosts GLAAD’s Fifth Annual Spirit Day in Los Angeles on Oct.

Frankie also opened up about his bond with his sister after she watched his opening performance in the The Rocky Horror Picture Show, where he plays the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

“I guess, as you grow, you grow closer together,” the performer tells PEOPLE. “And I think also, my own journey in my own personal life, with sobriety.”

Speaking about how he’s six and a half years sober, Frankie adds that Ariana played a big part “in helping me get sober” and that the “trials and tribulations” made them even closer.

Back in 2018, Frankie shared an exclusive letter to PEOPLE to mark one year of sobriety. In the letter, he wrote about how he abused prescription drugs and turned to alcohol after the May 2017 bomb attack at his sister’s concert in Manchester, England, that left 22 people dead.

“I think as I’ve grown sober, and more sober, we’ve grown even closer,” Frankie tells PEOPLE. “And our relationship is even stronger than I think it’s ever been in our lives.”

The big brother adds that “going through something like that can really change a relationship, and in this case, it was for the much, much, much better and stronger.”

Frankie also tells PEOPLE that he and his husband Hale Leon, with whom he tied the knot in 2022, are a “very stable couple.”

“I feel like when we were in our honeymoon phase, it was like, ‘We have to go to this thing. We have to go to this party. We have to go on this date. We have to do this,’ ” he says. “Now I’m just like, ‘Ah, we can do it tomorrow. It’s all right. It’s fine. We’re not going anywhere. Let’s just chill.’ So it’s very nice.”
