Ronaldo’s 54th Goal Puts Him in Pole Position on the 2023 Goal-Scoring Leaderboard as Al Nassr Dominates Al Taawon 4-1.

In the match between Al Taawon vs Al Nassr in round 19 of the 2023/24 Saudi Arabia National Championship, the away team with the excellence of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo had a resounding victory at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium.

Scored

Al Taawon: El Mahdioui (13′)

Al Nassr: Brozovic (26′), Laporte (35′), Otavio (50′), Ronaldo (90+2′)

Al Nassr is confident when marching to Al Taawon’s field because the home team has been playing poorly recently (2 wins, 2 losses). But Al Nassr’s away trip to Al Taawon initially did not go smoothly. They were soon awarded a penalty in the 11th minute. Although El Mahdioui could not beat goalkeeper Nawaf on the 11m mark, he was still able to successfully kick the rebound to help Al Taawon open the score.

It was thought that this goal would help the home team play more excitedly and explosively, but it only caused them to suffer the “wrath” of Al Naasr. The away team rallied extremely strongly after losing first. They ended the first half with a lead back to the home team. Brozovic and Laporte scored for Al Nassr in the 26th and 35th minutes respectively to help the home team temporarily score 2-1 at the break.

Entering the beginning of the second half, Al Nassr continued to make Al Taawon struggle. This time it was Otavio’s turn to put his name on the electronic board with a calm finish in the penalty area, increasing the score to 3-1 for Al Nassr.

Al Taawon’s spirit, psychology and fighting strength were significantly reduced after this defeat. Meanwhile, Al Nassr still plays with fire and determination. At minute 90+2, Ronaldo wrote his name on the scoreboard. The Portuguese superstar performed a dangerous jump and header, sealing a strong 4-1 victory for Al Nassr.

This is Ronaldo’s 54th goal in 2023. Previously, Ronaldo became the player who scored the most goals in the calendar year.
