I’m A Celeb‘s Nigel Farage revealed he thought about multiple women before his plane crashed to the ground during a terrifying accident 13-years ago.

The former politician, 59, was involved in the disaster when his aircraft nosedived after a Vote UKIP banner accidentally wrapped around the tail. 

Nigel was left so badly injured that he underwent a neck reconstruction and had his leg in a plaster cast for a year.

During Friday’s episode, the controversial politician told fellow campmate Josie Gibson about how he still feels the effects, including difficulty using his right hand as a result of a bruised spinal cord.

‘Did your life flash before your eyes?’ Josie asked.

Only for the politician to reply: ‘Do you know what I thought about? Women’.

A stunned Josie said: ‘Women? Really? Which one you loved the most?’.

‘All that stuff, yeah,’ Nigel went on, ‘Children obviously and just thought, “Let’s hope this is over quickly”‘.

Josie then mused: ‘You just think you’re about to die and all you think about is love.’

While Nigel replied: ‘Very interesting.’

Speaking later in the Bush Telegraph Josie said: ‘The thing is he said women, not woman.’

Recalling the accident in more detail Nigel shared: ‘Then it was bang, cartwheeling through the air and then stuck, upside down in the seat, everything broken, in a bad way’.

‘Then I thought, if I get through this it’ll be a miracle. After that, I never let little things annoy me.’

Nigel is currently dating French right wing politician Laure Ferrari, 44, after first being linked in 2017  after she moved into his £4 million Georgian home in Chelsea and was seen taking the bins out.

At the time Nigel dismissed the idea of an affair as ‘crackers’ as he had just announced the separation from his wife of 18 years, Kirsten.

He previously split from Kirsten Mehr in 2017 after 18 years of marriage. They have two daughters, Isabelle, 18, and Victoria, 23.

Laure, who is 15 years Farage’s junior, met the politician 10 years earlier in 2007 when she was working as a waitress in Strasbourg.

After the exchange with the then 28-year-old, Nigel appointed her as a parliamentary assistant in charge of environmental issues in the UK – her first job in politics.

From there she was made PR director of Nigel’s parliamentary group Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy in 2009 and eventually worked for the French nationalist party.

In 2017 – right when she moved in with Nigel as a ‘lodger’ – she headed up a Eurosceptic think tank which was accused of illegally diverting £400,000 of public money to UKIP – before the UK General Election and Brexit referendum.

It comes after MailOnline exclusively revealed Nigel had been smoking between 20 and 30 cigarettes each day away from ITV’s cameras.

The MP has been puffing in excess of one packet of Benson and Hedges a day in the jungle in the designated smoking area which viewers never get to see.

If Nigel, who usually smokes Rothmans in the UK, wants a cigarette he must go into the Bush Telegraph and ask the show’s producers for permission.

ITV executive producer, Laura Woolf, said: ‘If contestants want a cigarette, they have to request one and go off one by one.’

Ensuring the former UKIP politician was able to indulge in his habit while appearing on I’m a Celebrity was one of the first assurances sought by his team from ITV bosses.
