The Kardashian-Jenner family held their annual Christmas Eve party last night and they didn’t disappoint with the social media posts. Many family members shared photos and videos from the soiree, including Kylie Jenner, who wore a glittering gold gown that matched her 6-year-old daughter Stormi’s dress.
Though Kylie was clearly enjoying herself given what fans could see online, there was one important person in her life that was missing from the party – her boyfriend Timothee Chalamet.

The couple hard-launched their romance earlier this year with a show of PDA at Beyonce’s concert in the fall, after fans were speculating about their relationship status for months. However, Kylie and Timothee have been shy to post about each other online as well as attend public events together, so it’s not surprising he seemed to skip her family’s huge party, even though plenty of other famous faces were in attendance.
However, a new report says that Timothee’s absence is a sign that something is amiss between him and Kylie. Specifically, the Dune actor appear to be having a hard time adjusting to Kylie’s high-profile lifestyle, which may have factored into his decision to forgo the party.

“The Kardashian circus doesn’t seem like a match for his normal lifestyle or personal brand,” body language expert Judi James told The Sun while evaluating Kylie and Timothee’s public appearances in the last few months.
While the actor has been willing to display his affection for Kylie in front of the paparazzi, James notices that he doesn’t seem comfortable, or at least not as comfortable as his reality star girlfriend.
“There are several non-verbal cues or clues that he might like to take things more at his own pace or to have a little more privacy with Kylie,” James explained. “Kylie’s body language is more confident, grown-up, and sophisticated than Timothee’s boyish charm.”
“Kylie is skilled at the art of the press statement, where a Kardashian will ‘announce’ a relationship non-verbally, but Timothee looks less experienced and less comfortable but more authentic,” she added.

She emphasized that Timothee feels “uncomfortable” for the “circus” that is the Kardashian-Jenner way of life. “circus” “[It] doesn’t “seem like a match for his normal lifestyle,” she continued, noting it wouldn’t be surprising if this would lead them to split in the end.
Though they’ve been seen spending time with each other’s families, a report in August said Kylie and Timothee were keeping things “casual.” The makeup mogul broke up with rapper Travis Scott earlier this year, the father of her two kids. He’s apparently had a hard time seeing Kylie move on in a new romance especially so publicly.
Timothée Chalamet is a blazing star in the movie industry, and his impressive filmography is proof of it.
Of Timothee and Kylie, a source told Entertainment Tonight, “They are keeping things casual at this point. It’s not serious, but Kylie is enjoying hanging out with Timothée and seeing where it goes.”
They added, “It’s been really fun for her because it feels a lot different than her past relationships. It’s new and exciting for Kylie and she’s having a lot of fun.”
The fact that Kylie and Timothee appear to be spending the holidays apart may suggest their romance is remaining casual as opposed to getting more serious, like some fans have wondered.
