The highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel won’t be out until summer 2020, but the trailers are about to roll in.

Fans got their first look at the action onscreen in the first peak teaser released Saturday. The full trailer will be released in full on Sunday.

Gal Gadot reprises her role as Diana (Wonder Woman) and is reunited with director Patty Jenkins, and co-star and on-screen love interest Chris Pine.

Just shy of 20 seconds long, the first released clips find the immortal demigoddess and Amazon princess in Reagan-era D.C.

Diana, in her outfit from the first film of a blue skirt, gold belt and lasso, red strapless top, and knee, shin and arm armor overlooks an unknown city that is burning.

As a helicopter flies overhead, an unknown mans voice tells her ‘the world needs you.’

She quickly jumps into action in what appears to be a White House hallway, deflecting bullets from a security guard using nothing but her forearms.

In one of the most powerful moments, slowed down for precision, as two hands point a gun at her, she releases the bullet from the chamber and slaps it away with her arm.

A birds-eye view of Washington D.C. shows the streets in chaos: car crashes, masses of people running away as tanks roll in.

Diana, now in a business casual look of a taupe blazer, blue striped vest and white button up surveys the scene at street level.

In voice over she is heard saying ‘Nothing good is born from lies. And greatness is not what you think.’

Before she scene cuts to her, flying through the air using her electric whip as a rope tied to lightning.

Not much is known about the upcoming film ahead of Sunday’s full trailer release.

Though it is said to find Diana in conflict with the Soviet Union during the 1980’s as she comes to a head with foes the Cheetah and Maxwell Lord.

Poignant for today’s fake news, the Cold War was marked by disinformation campaigns by the U.S. and foreign adversaries.

Director Patty Jenkins has said she does not view Wonder Woman 1984 as a direct sequel  as it finds the immortal superhero in life 70’s years after the events of the first film and tries to tell a very different story.

Her love interest from the first film, Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, will reprise his role, though he was presumed dead after the events of the first film.

However, Jenkins shared a photo of Pine from set in a very 80’s mall and in the clothes of the decade, seemingly noting that he is not on screen merely in flashbacks.

The film was initially intended to be released December of 2019, but was pushed back to June 2020 to avoid competition with Star Wars Rise of Skywalker.

Wonder Woman, released in 2017, was also directed by Jenkins and grossed $821million worldwide.
